Find the work, the life, and the days that feel like yours.
Ikigai is a Japanese framework for the overlap between what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. As a CPD-certified Ikigai Life Coach (accredited by ICAHP, IPHM, CPD, CMA, and NCCAP), I help you map yours — in plain language, on real time, with a real next step.
What is Ikigai?
Ikigai (生き甲斐) translates loosely to “a reason for being.” In coaching, we use it as a four-circle map. Your Ikigai isn’t one job title or one big answer — it’s the daily, weekly, and seasonal pattern that lives in the middle of these four questions:
- What do I love? The activities, topics, and people that lift you.
- What am I good at? Skills, strengths, and the things you do without noticing.
- What does the world need? The gaps you see, the people you want to help, the problems that matter to you.
- What can I be paid for? The realistic ways your gifts can become income or contribution.
The overlaps matter too: passion (love + good at), mission (love + world needs), vocation (world needs + paid for), and profession (good at + paid for). Most stuck points live at one of those intersections.
How an Ikigai session works
- Before we meet. You complete a short Ikigai self-reflection — not a quiz, just prompts that warm up the four circles.
- 50-minute call. We walk the circles one at a time, then look at the overlaps. I ask the questions; you do the seeing.
- Same-day map. You receive a personalized four-circles map within 24 hours — what’s clear, what’s fuzzy, and where the next move is.
- One small practice. We end every session with one concrete experiment for the next 7–14 days. Ikigai is built by behavior, not by journaling.
Who Ikigai coaching is for
- Career-pivot moments — you know the current path isn’t it, but the next one isn’t obvious.
- Burnout recovery — the engine is back on but the direction is unclear.
- Late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults rebuilding a life that fits the brain they actually have.
- Founders, students, and parents in the middle of a life chapter change.
- Anyone who feels “successful on paper, but…”
